Mystery Series ‘Bodkin’ Brings Irish Samhain Festival to Netflix [Review]

The Irish Samhain festival comedy murder mystery series you never knew you needed, Bodkin premieres on Netflix today.

The darkly comedic thriller follows an unlikely trio, played by Will Forte, Siobhán Cullen, and Robyn Cara, who set out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of three strangers following a 1999 Samhain festival in the fictional coastal Irish town of Bodkin for what they hope will be a hit new true crime podcast. But the various colorful locals are mostly not too happy to have them digging into a part of their past they’d rather move past, as Bodkin prepares to relaunch its Samhain festival for the first time since the disappearances.

The excellent ensemble cast also includes David Wilmot (Station Eleven) and Chris Walley (The Last Voyage of the Demeter).

The seven-episode series was filmed on location in Ireland.
