‘Longlegs’ Final Trailer Heralds What May Be the Scariest Film of 2024
Following one of the best and legitimately creepy marketing campaigns in recent memory, a final official trailer for this summer’s serial killer horror movie Longlegs has dropped online today, heralding what some are already calling the scariest film of the year.
From writer and director Osgood Perkins (The Blackcoat’s Daughter, Gretel and Hansel), starring Nicolas Cage (Renfield, Arcadian) and Maika Monroe (The Guest, It Follows), in the film, FBI Agent Lee Harker (Monroe) is a gifted new recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer (Cage). As the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family.
Alicia Witt (The Walking Dead) and Blair Underwood (American Crime Story) also star.
Neon has released a series of increasingly unsettling, intriguingly mysterious teasers and posters in recent weeks, all leading up to today’s trailer, which is ominously subtitled “The End”.
Longlegs creeps into theaters on July 12.
