Returning this fall is the perennially spooktacular Halloween Haunt event. As darkness creeps in across the landscape, monsters creep their way into mazes and scare zones located throughout the park.
This year’s feature is a new maze called MonsterCon. Something has gone grotesquely wrong during the opening day of a horror convention! Attendees expected to see exhibits and revel in the excitement of all things horror, but the monsters on the exhibit floor have somehow come to life and banded together to ensure that no one will make it out alive.
The newest maze joins the lineup of five other returning mazes:
- F.E.A.R. – You find yourself deep in your greatest nightmare. There is no escape. Around each corner, new horrors await. the things that go bump in the night are here, and they are here for you.
- CornStalkers: Blood Harvest – UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT! Dominion Farms welcomes you to take your pick of the freshest vegetables and pasture-raised meats. Here at Dominion Farms, our vegetables are picked daily and our farm fresh meat is the best around. There is even a corn maze out back for the little ones. Stop on by – we can’t wait to meat you!
- Trick or Treat – It’s always Halloween on Hemlock Lane. Our story picks up where the Fairy Tales ended – our clan of distraught witches were given a new start in this very special halfway house for wayward souls. Throughout the years the residents have worked to make their new home a welcoming place for their next victims. It’s time to find out if a treat is in your future or if it’s all just an evil trick.
- Blood on the Bayou – There are rumors that the swamps once ran red with blood and it’s time to find out if the rumors are true. The locals refuse to speak about the horrors that once filled the bayou, whispers of curses and unnamed voodoo priests. However, refusing to talk about something does not make it go away. The evil that lies in wait hungers for new visitors. The voodoo queen dreams of times gone by, times when the blood of the innocent once flowed through the bayou.
- GrimmWoods – Welcome to our Haunted Trail, where classic fairy tales leap off the page and lunge at your throat. Experience the three terror-filled stories, straight from the twisted minds of the Brothers Grimm. Over the river and through the woods, we hope you make it out alive.
The 2024 returning scare zones:
- Masquerade – In what is bound to be the most prestigious ball ever thrown, the evil Queen Majesty is out to prove once and for all that every person and demon will eagerly follow her plan for domination. But beware, sometimes the mask is there for a reason.
- Uprising – The Doswell Survivors Society is here to help! Located on Center Street, we hold a safe haven from the Zombie hoard. Proceed with caution as the blood thirsty undead are seeking their next meal. See you soon!
- Cleaver Brothers Carnival – Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, you have seen the rest, now step right up and experience the best. The Cleaver Brothers have set up their midway and invite you to experience a carnival like no other. Enter a world where the extraordinary comes to life and your worst nightmares will seem like a pleasant dream.
- Site X – The Jungle X-pedition team made discoveries that changed history. But rumors have emerged that while excavating this site, the crew unearthed something sinister, and the jungle began to transform them. Venture into Site X to discover the horrors of the jungle, but listen closely as a luring whistle or rhythmic drum could spell your impending doom.
- Pumpkin Eater – In the last years of the Revolution, some say the spirit of a dead soldier possessed Peter Armstrong, a pumpkin farmer, who murdered his wife with a bayonet, along with other victims. The evil spirit in his body began to morph him into a pumpkin like creature. His victims too, began to rise and now haunt these once tranquil woods with their jack o’ lantern faces.
Live entertainment accompanies the mazes and scare zones with returning favorites like Conjure the Night, Black Widow Burlesque, and Big Top Band.
Halloween Haunt occurs on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays starting on September 20 and running through November 3, with the opening scare-emony at 7:00 p.m., though several attractions open at 6:00 p.m., and continue until park’s close.
