[Interview] Miles Robbins and Shal Ngo Talk ‘Control Freak’s Lore and True Horror
The new horror move Control Freak just hit Hulu today, and we talked to writer/director Shal Ngo about what inspired the lore of the film and genre tropes he wanted to avoid, and Miles Robbins about what drew him to the project and the true terror at the heart of the story.
In our video conversation last week, we also asked Robbins who is scarier between Michael Myers, who he encountered in 2018’s Halloween requel, or the character Val, played by an outstanding Kelly Marie Tran, delivering a superb, award worthy performance, in Control Freak.
In the film, a motivational speaker is tormented by an unrelenting itch on the back of her head.
Starring Kelly Marie Tran (Star Wars: The Last Jedi) and Miles Robbins (Halloween 2018), the feature is written and directed by Shal Ngo, based his short Control, which originally premiered as part of Hulu’s Bite Size Halloween series in 2021.
Control Freak is now streaming on Hulu.
You can watch our video interview with Shal Ngo and Miles Robbins, as well as the film’s official trailer, below (premiering at 2:31 p.m. EST).
