[Interview] Vivian Bang Talks Haunted Set of ‘The Parenting’, and Halloween
The new horror comedy The Parenting premieres on Max this week, featuring an all star cast stuck in a haunted house with a demon, including Vivian Bang, who revealed to HDN recently that she believes the set was actually haunted by a presence that was summoned while shooting a pivotal séance scene for the film.
During a virtual roundtable with other journalists last week, we also talked about about why romcom horror mashups are trending at the moment, and of course we asked what Halloween means to Bang, and she did not disappoint with her answer.
The Max Original film follows young couple Rohan and Josh as they plan a perfect weekend getaway in the country to introduce their parents. As tensions begin to flare between the more traditional Sharon and Frank and the laid-back Liddy and Cliff, the families soon realize that their rental – managed by eccentric local Brenda – is haunted by the presence of a 400-year-old poltergeist. When one parent becomes thoroughly possessed, it’s up to the young couple and their meddlesome BFF Sara to unite the families and stop the evil entity once and for all.
Starring Nik Dodani, Brandon Flynn, Brian Cox (Trick ‘r Treat), Edie Falco, Lisa Kudrow, Dean Norris (Breaking Bad, Under the Dome), Parker Posey, and Vivian Bang, the movie is directed by Craig Johnson and written by Kent Sublette.
The Parenting premieres on Max on Thursday, March 13.
