[Interview] Jasmine Mathews and James Ross II Talk ‘Parasomnia’, and Halloween

The new horror movie Parasomnia will have audiences scared to go to sleep when it arrives on Shudder this week, and we talked to writer and director James Ross II about creating the lore of his supernatural feature debut and its central mask, and we spoke to the film’s star Jasmine Mathews about what excited her most to bring the character of Riley to life, and more.

In our video conversation last week, we also of course talked about Halloween and what it means to each of them.

In Parasomnia: “A young woman is tormented by night terrors and a past of unresolved tragedy. When her best friend is the latest to go missing, she begins to suspect the demonic figure lurking in her sleep has crossed over into the real world.”

Written and directed by James Ross II, the film stars Jasmine Mathews (The Tomorrow War), RJ Brown, Sally Stewart, Stephen Barrington, Danny Brown, and Simon Longnight.

Parasomnia premieres on Shudder this Friday, September 4.
