Robert Longstreet to Play Lonnie Elam in ‘Halloween Kills’
After being teased in Halloween 2018, the character Lonnie Elam will be featured in the upcoming sequel Halloween Kills, and he will be played by Robert Longstreet.
Bloody-Disgusting reports that Robert Longstreet, best known to horror fans as Mr. Dudley in Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House and soon as Barry in Doctor Sleep, will portray Lonnie Elam, who was of course first introduced as Tommy Dolye’s childhood bully in John Carpenter’s original 1978 Halloween, originally played by Brent Le Page.
Lonnie’s son, Cameron Elam was portrayed by Dylan Arnold in Blumhouse’s 2018 Halloween. Cameron is one of the survivors of Michael Myers’ return to Haddonfield, as his dad was 40 years earlier.
Longstreet joins the growing cast list that includes Kyle Richards (read our interview here) reprising her 1978 role as Lindsey Wallace, and Anthony Michael Hall, who will take over the role of Tommy Doyle from Brian Andrews, as well as Jamie Lee Curtis, and (presumably, though not official yet) Judy Greer and Andi Matichak, reprising their roles as three generations of Strode women from the 2018 film.
Halloween Kills will begin filming on Michael Myers Monday, Sept. 16 in Wilmington, North Carolina. It is filming under the working production title “Mob Rules”, which is somewhat fitting considering that is also the title of Black Sabbath’s second album with their second lead singer, Ronnie James Dio.
Halloween Kills, is set for theatrical release on Friday, October 16th, 2020, with David Gordon Green returning to direct from a script he co-wrote with returning collaborator Danny McBride and newcomer Scott Teems.
Halloween Ends, intended as the finale of the saga, will be released on Friday, October 15th, 2021. Green will direct as well, from a script he co-wrote with McBride and writers new to the series, Paul Brad Logan, and Chris Bernier.
Based on characters created by series originator John Carpenter and Debra Hill, Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends will be produced by Malek Akkad, Jason Blum, and Bill Block. Green, McBride, Carpenter, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jeanette Volturno, Couper Samuelson, and Ryan Freimann will serve as executive producers, with Ryan Turek overseeing both projects for Blumhouse.
