‘The Predator’ Teaser Trailer Goes Trick or Treating

The first official teaser trailer for The Predator was released online today, and it opens on Halloween night in suburbia, with kids in costume trick or treating.

While it’s unknown how much of the film takes place during the Halloween season, it’s clear from the very first second of the first trailer that the holiday itself will definitely be featured.

From director Shane Black and written by Monster Squad creators Black and Fred Dekker, the new sequel stars Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Olivia Munn, Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Edward James Olmos, Alfie Allen, Yvonne Strahovski, and Jake Busey as the son of Gary Busey’s Predator 2 character.

The official synopsis: From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter, and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.

The Predator arrives in theaters on September 14.
