Halloween Kills is coming to Digital next week with a new Extended Cut including an alternate ending, then arriving on Blu-ray and DVD in January, and we now have official confirmation of the bonus features included and the cover art for the physical release.
Director and co-writer David Gordon Green previously revealed that an extra scene removed from the theatrical cut will be reinserted into the Extended Cut. That additional final scene is also revealed in Halloween Kills: The Official Movie Novelization by Tim Waggoner, which is currently available to order via Amazon here.
The runtime listed on the 4K back cover reveals that the Extended Cut will be four minutes longer than the theatrical version.
The full list of bonus features in the 4K set include:
- 4K UHD, Blu-ray and a digital copy of Halloween Kills
- Dolby Vision and HDR10 for Brighter, Deeper, More Lifelike Color
- 2 Versions of the Movie: Theatrical and Extended with Alternate Ending
- Gag Reel

The iTunes listing further clarifies that it will actually be two separate feature length commentary tracks, one with Green and the other with Curtis and Greer.
The official synopsis: And the Halloween night when Michael Myers returned isn’t over yet. Minutes after Laurie Strode (Curtis), her daughter Karen (Judy Greer) and granddaughter Allyson (Andi Matichak) left masked monster Michael Myers caged and burning in Laurie’s basement, Laurie is rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, believing she finally killed her lifelong tormentor. But when Michael manages to free himself from Laurie’s trap, his ritual bloodbath resumes. As Laurie fights her pain and prepares to defend herself against him, she inspires all of Haddonfield to rise up against their unstoppable monster.
The Strode women join a group of other survivors of Michael’s first rampage who decide to take matters into their own hands, forming a vigilante mob that sets out to hunt Michael down, once and for all.
Halloween Kills: Extended Cut will be available to stream on digital platforms officially starting on December 14, and will then be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD on January 11, 2022.
