Disney Confirms ‘Hocus Pocus 3’ Is In Development

Disney has officially confirmed that the Sanderson sisters’ witchy adventures will continue, as Hocus Pocus 3 is in early development, following the massive success of last year’s Hocus Pocus 2.

A third film in the beloved Halloween-set franchise starring Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker as a trio of Salem witches resurrected to wreak havoc in modern day is currently in the works, as confirmed in a New York Times interview with Sean Bailey, President of Walt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production.

The announcement follows the huge streaming success of 2022’s Hocus Pocus 2, which reunited the three witches and their undead co-star Doug Jones as Billy Butcherson 29 years after the release of director Kenny Ortega’s 1993 original Hocus Pocus, and broke streaming records for the Disney+ platform upon its debut on September 30 of last year. It broke the record for the total number of minutes watched by a streaming film across its weekend debut, according to Nielsen tracking information, with Disney calling it “”the biggest opening for a streaming movie ever recorded” in Nielsen history.

Stay tuned for more continuing coverage of Hocus Pocus 3 as the project progresses.

Hocus Pocus and Hocus Pocus 2 are streaming on Disney+.
