Blumhouse Slashers Go Trick or Treating in ‘Totally Killer’ Teaser
A new teaser for the horror comedy Totally Killer features Julie Bowen’s character answering the door as different slashers from various Blumhouse productions come trick or treating, ultimately introducing this film’s latest addition, the Sweet Sixteen Killer.
First announced back in May of 2022, the new film, from Amazon Studios and Blumhouse, stars Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Olivia Holt (Cruel Summer), Julie Bowen (Modern Family, Hubie Halloween), and Randall Park (Always Be My Maybe, Fresh Off the Boat). The cast also includes Liana Liberato (Scream VI), Kelcey Mawema, Charlie Gillespie, and Lochlyn Munro..
It is directed by Nahnatchka Khan (Always Be My Maybe, Young Rock, Don Wong), from a screenplay by Jen D’Angelo based on an original script by David Matalon and Sasha Perl-Raver.
In the film, Jamie’s (Shipka) mom, Pam (Bowen) is terrorized by the resurgence of the Sweet Sixteen Killer—a masked maniac that slaughtered a group of teenage girls in the ‘80s. With the help of her friend Amelia (Mawema), Jamie travels back in time to 1987 and teams up with the teen version of her mom (Holt) to try to stop the killer.
It is unknown at this time if the whole movie takes place around Halloween, but today’s teaser definitely suggests that it does.
UPDATE: An article from Time confirms that Kiernan Shipka’s character Jamie goes back in time to Halloween Night 1987.
Totally Killer will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on October 6.
