[Interview] ‘Affection’ Director BT Meza and FX Artist Dan Rebert Talk Horror and Halloween

The twisted new sci-fi horror movie Affection hits theaters this week, and we talked to the film’s writer and director BT Meza and special makeup FX artist Dan Rebert (Slither, Stan Helsing, True Blood) recently about their inspirations, genre influences, and more.

In our video conversation earlier this week, we also of course talked about Halloween and what it means to Meza and Rebert.

In Affection: “Afflicted by a mysterious condition that resets her memory, Ellie becomes trapped in a cyclical nightmare with a man who claims to be her husband. She soon must uncover the horrifying truth of her existence—before she forgets it all again.”

Written and directed by BT Meza, making his feature debut, Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day) stars, with Joseph Cross and Julianna Layne.

Affection will be released in select theaters this Friday, May 8.
