‘Halloween: The Game’ Unveils Reimagined ’78 Legacy Characters

Michael Myers is coming to your home to stalk your consoles this year in the upcoming Halloween: The Game, and developers have just unveiled reimagined legacy characters Laurie Strode, Bob Simms, Lynda van der Klok, and Annie Brackett, confirming that they will be featured in the singleplayer version and will be playable characters in the multiplayer version of the highly anticipated game. Read on for full details.

From the official site: In addition to interactive appearances inspired by iconic scenes from the original film in the game’s singleplayer story mode, these legacy characters will also serve as playable Civilians in multiplayer, allowing players to shape their own experiences and roleplay as their favorite beer-drinking lovebirds and dedicated babysitters.

The Standard Edition of Halloween: The Game will feature 10 playable Civilians at launch: Jennifer, Tanya, Rachel, Eric, Marcus, Thomas, Bob, Lynda, Annie, and Laurie.

In close collaboration with Malek Akkad and Compass International Pictures, IllFonic developed reimagined designs of these iconic characters, inspired by the original film, for our asymmetrical horror sandbox.

“We aren’t just adapting a widely adored movie; we’re building an entire world around it,” states Art Director Cole Gray. “To do justice to this classic, everything and everyone within it had to feel like they belonged together. Reimagining these characters from the ground up allowed us to seamlessly weave them into a fresh, cohesive landscape that respects the era while presenting new ideas and honoring the film’s roots.”

Bob Simms will be voiced by Nicholas Leung, Lynda van der Klok will be voiced by Angela Carbone, Annie Brackett will be voiced by Kaitlyn Robrock, nd the quintessential ‘final’ girl, Laurie Strode, will be voiced by Chelsea Krause.

Much like the other Heroes of Haddonfield, these legacy characters come equipped with a default multiplayer outfit; However, completing various challenges in the singleplayer story mode will unlock alternate costumes and cosmetic items, including some iconic looks fans of the original film will greatly appreciate.

Also, as of today, players can pre-order the Standard Edition or Deluxe Edition to secure the digital pre-order exclusive Phantom Michael Myers skin. The Deluxe Edition also includes 2 additional exclusive playable Civilian characters – one voiced  by Ice Nine Kills’ Spencer Charnas and other by Halloween 2007 star Kristina Klebe! – the exclusive Inmate Michael Myers skin, early access to Halloween: The Game starting on September 4.

In Halloween: The Game, players will be able to become The Shape in the game, with a unique  stalking “Shape Jump” ability that allows Michael Myers to vanish and reappear, as he does in the movies.

In the highly anticipated video game, Michael Myers will once again be played by the original Shape actor Nick Castle, as well as actor and stuntman T.J. Storm, working together performing the motion capture to bring The Shape to life.

With Malek Akkad producing and John Carpenter as executive producer, Halloween will be published by IllFonic, co-published by Gun Interactive, in partnership with Compass International Pictures and Further Front, coming to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam and Epic Game Store.

Halloween: The Game will be released on September 8.
