[Interview] Angela Trimbur, Melora Walters, and Mickey Keating Talk ‘Crooks’, and Halloween
The stylish new crime thriller Crooks just had its first public screening, and we talked to writer/director Mickey Keating and his leading ladies Angela Trimbur and Melora Walters about the appeal of gangsters and outlaws in movies, what drew them to the story of a desperate singer on the run from a hitman and the mysterious waitress she meets on the way, and more.
In our video conversation on Sunday, just hours before the film’s world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, we also of course talked about Halloween and what it means to each of them, and got Trimbur’s take on how her Crooks character Faye would handle an encounter with Michael Myers, who her Halloween II character Harley fell victim too.
In Crooks: “After Faye and Johnny stick up a local gangster’s poker room, Faye immediately double-crosses Johnny, takes off with the loot, and soon finds herself pursued by a legendary hitman. Bad turns worse when her car breaks down and she ends up at a decrepit diner where she meets Blanche, a charming waitress with secrets of her own.”
Written and directed by Mickey Keating (Offseason, Invader), Angela Trimbur (Halloween II, The Final Girls) and Melora Walters (Offseason) star, along with Chase Williamson and Keith Kupferer.
