Neve Campbell Wants Jamie Lee Curtis to Play Ghostface

During a Q&A panel at the Mad Monster Party horror convention this past weekend in North Carolina, Neve Campbell revealed that she would love to have Jamie Lee Curtis play Ghostface in a future Scream movie.

When asked by a fan in the audience who she would pick to play Ghostface other than the people who already have, Campbell responded enthusiastically, “Jamie Lee Curtis! How cool would that be?” The crowd roared in approval.

When another fan later asked if she could see her character Sidney Prescott face off against “another slasher icon or horror villain” in a future Scream film, Neve said again emphatically, “Jamie Lee Curtis,” to massive applause.

Of course now if Curtis is ever cast in a Scream movie, we’ll all assume she’s the killer, but imagine if she wasn’t announced as part of the cast at all, that her only scene in the finale reveal would be kept top secret, and then imagine the Ghostface mask coming off at the climax, and it’s Jamie Lee Curtis. It would certainly be an epic horror event, to say the least, and Campbell’s comments echo the fact that she has huge admiration for the ultimate scream queen and respect for the history of the genre.

Mad Monster Party took place Feb. 18-20 in Concord, North Carolina.
