Haunted Screams Expo 2024 Costume Contest Highlights [Video, Photos]

The 5th annual Haunted Screams Expo horror convention returned to Hampton, Virginia last month, bringing another killer lineup of special guest genre icons and scary cool events like the always popular costume contests for kids and adults, and HDN was there to capture it all for you, including exclusive interviews with the winners

Haunted Screams Expo 2024 took place on Saturday and Sunday, September 28th and 29th at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton, Virginia.

In the adult costume contest, Savannah Dever (@sketchie_ghost) took 1st Place for her Sweet Tooth from Twisted Metal cosplay, and Avalon Lee (@avalon_lee_cosplay) won Best in Show for her Mimikyu from Pokémon cosplay, both of whom made their costumes by hand.

Special guest judges for the contests included Tom O’Connell, who portrayed Darth Vader as Hayden Christensen’s stunt double in the Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi and Ahsoka, and former Misfits drummer Dr. Chud.
