[Interview] Karen Cliche Talks ‘Thanksgiving’, ‘Saw VI’, and More
Eli Roth’s 2023 slasher Thanksgiving was definitely on many of our watchlists again last month, as it will be revisited by horror fans each November for years to come, which we talked about recently with Karen Cliche, who plays Kathleen in the film, and shooting her character’s unforgettable oven death scene, as well as filming on the carousel trap in Saw VI, and much more.
In our video conversation earlier this week, Cliche told HDN that Kathleen’s death was originally off screen when filming initially wrapped. It was a few months later when Roth called her for reshoots and told her that he wanted to make her kill the best of his entire career, as Karen takes us through what was going through her mind as her body is “basted” by the masked “John Carver” killer, the intense chase scene the ensues, and then, ultimately, being cooked alive in an actual giant oven.
We also talked about Karen’s memories of working on the 2009 sequel Saw VI and being pregnant when she was filming the carousel trap scene, and of course we talked about Halloween, and much more.
