‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’ Trailer Hooks New Victims
Sony has just released the first official trailer for this year’s new I Know What You Did Last Summer legacy sequel to the original 1997 slasher, featuring the return of The Fisherman killer, as well as Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr.
In the film, when five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences. A year later, their past comes back to haunt them and they’re forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summer…and is hell-bent on revenge. As one by one the friends are stalked by a killer, they discover this has happened before, and they turn to two survivors of the legendary Southport Massacre of 1997 for help.
Directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, from a story by Leah McKendrick and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, and screenplay by Sam Lansky and Robinson, the cast includes new blood Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks; picture above), Chase Sui Wonders, Jonah Hauer-King, Tyriq Withers, Sarah Pidgeon, Billy Campbell, Gabbriette Bechtel, Austin Nichols, Lola Tung, Nicholas Alexander Chavez, with Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt reprising their roles from the original 1997 film.
I Know What You Did Last Summer slashes into theaters on July 18.
