A24 Halloween Horror Movie ‘October’ is now ‘Slayground’, Teaser Released
A24’s new Halloween-set horror movie formerly known as October has been officially retitled Slayground, and a first look teaser that debuted in theaters over the weekend with Resident Evil has now been released online, revealing a Halloween haunt attraction setting.
Previously described as “a fugitive thriller set during Halloween,” World of Reel further details, “Slayground takes its title from the haunted attraction where the lead character works. The plot follows the primary suspect in a mass murder investigation, after he escapes police custody. He goes on the run, attempting to prove his innocence while becoming the target of a massive manhunt.”
The official website shown in the teaser includes a countdown that appears to be ending on Tuesday, October 20.
Written and directed by Jeremy Saulnier (Murder Party, Green Room, Rebel Ridge), the film stars Cory Michael Smith (Gotham, Saturday Night), Imogen Poots (Black Christmas, Green Room), Chase Sui Wonders (I Know What You Did Last Summer), Sophie Wilde (Talk To Me), Stanley Simons (The Iron Claw), Young Mazino (The Last of Us), James Badge Dale (The Pacific), Matty Matheson (The Bear),and Stephen Root (Barry).
Produced and financed by A24, producers are Rich Peete (Neighborhood Watch), Eli Bush (Central), and Jeremy Saulnier and Skei Saulnier (Niteowl Films), with Ronald Bronstein and Josh Safdie (Central), Traci Carlson and Elliott Coley (Neighborhood Watch), and Macon Blair (Bonneville Pictures) executive producing.
