Samara Returns in ‘Rings’ Trailer
Samara Morgan returns to theaters just in time for Halloween this October, and the first official trailer for Rings, the second sequel to The Ring, has arrived online today, with all the creepy imagery we have come to expect from this fun franchise.
Following 2002’s The Ring and its sequel The Ring 2 (2005), this time around, a young woman, Julia, played by newcomer Matilda Anna Ingrid Lutz, grows increasingly anxious as her boyfriend explores a dark subculture surrounding a disturbing videotape that supposedly kills viewers seven days after they view it. Opening an email attachment she really shouldn’t have, Julia ultimately sacrifices herself to save her beau, though, over the course of her last week on Earth, she discovers another mysterious “movie within the movie” no one else has ever seen before.
In addition to Lutz, Johnny Galecki (The Big Bang Theory, Urban Legend), Lizzie Brochere (American Horror Story’s), and Aimee Teegarden (Scream 4, Friday Night Lights) also star in Rings, directed by F. Javier Gutiérrez (Before the Fall).
Rings arrives in theaters on October 28.
