Akkad, Green, and Curtis Tease ‘Halloween Ends’

Total Film Magazine is all over Halloween Kills in their upcoming issue out this Friday, but they just published some interesting new comments about next year’s sequel Halloween Ends from franchise producer Malek Akkad, director David Gordon Green, and franchise star Jamie Lee Curtis. [***Possible SPOILERS ahead.***]

Speaking about the upcoming third film in Green’s “trilogy” of sequels, Halloween Ends, producer Malek Akkad tells Total Film that “the last one is going to be way more contained”, while Green adds, “I get engaged by doing something different. If I was just going to be repetitive, I would hand the reins off to someone else. When you have that opportunity within an established franchise, it’s really fun to think about how you can show different tones and perspectives and evolve.”

[***Possible SPOILER ahead.***] Curtis commented on if she thinks she will ever play Laurie Strode again after Halloween Ends, telling Total Film, “I would say, given what I know about the next movie, I think it will be the last time that I will play her,” then further clarifying, “And I’m not saying something like, ‘Oh, because I die!’ It’s nothing to do with that. I’m talking about emotionally what they have constructed. I think it will be a spectacular way to end this trilogy.”

Hitting newsstands this Friday, July 23, the new issue of Total Film, also features some really cool new images from this October’s Halloween Kills, and new comments from all involved on that film, which you can see here.

Halloween Kills will be released in theaters on October 15, 2021, with Halloween Ends to follow on October 14, 2022.
