[Interview] Rachel Nichols Talks ‘The Inheritance’, Horror Love, and Halloween
The new horror movie The Inheritance arrives in theaters and on VOD today, and we talked to Rachel Nichols (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, Star Trek, The Amityville Horror) earlier this week about what attracted her to her pivotal role in the film, as well as her personal love and passion for the horror genre, her favorite Halloween traditions, and more.
In the film, on the eve of his 75th birthday, billionaire Charles Abernathy invites his estranged children back home out of fear that tonight someone or something is going to kill him. He puts each of their inheritances on the line, to ensure they’ll help keep him alive.
In addition to Nichols, the ensemble cast includes Bob Gunton, Peyton List (Hubie Halloween), Briana Middleton, Austin Stowell, David Walton, Resse Alexander, and Chris Wood. The film is directed by Alejandro Brugués (Juan of the Dead, Satanic Hispanics), and written by Chris LaMont and Joe Russo (Nightmare Cinema).
In a our video conversation this week, Rachel told us how she loved playing the hard-edged, bitchy character of Hannah in The Inheritance , and of course we also talked about celebrating Halloween, to which she revealed that while she’s not too into dressing up on October 31st, she does love handing out candy and is inspired after our interview to start scaring the trick or treaters who come to her door, as her favorite tradition of all is watching horror movies, of which she is a massive fan.
The Inheritance is in select theaters and available to watch on Digital platforms now. (Watch on Prime Video here!)
