[Interview] Alec Gillis Talks Roger Corman, ‘Double Take’, ‘Trick or Treat’, and More
Oscar nominated makeup FX legend and renowned movie monster maker Alec Gillis celebrates his earliest collaborations with Roger Corman on this week’s episode of Shout! TV’s Double Take, premiering on the late director’s birthday (April 5), and we talked to Gillis recently about lessons he learned from Corman, plus memories from the set of 1986’s heavy metal Halloween classic Trick or Treat, and more.
Shout! TV’s new original series Double Take, featuring celebrity guests hosting and curating themed double features, is back with an all-new episode celebrating legendary director Roger Corman’s birthday. VFX artist Alec Gillis (Battle Beyond The Stars, Alien and Predator franchises, Smile, and dozens more of your favorites) will host a marathon celebrating Corman’s birthday beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. PT on Saturday, April 5th.
The marathon will include Battle Beyond The Stars and Galaxy of Terror, both notable Corman films that Gillis worked on, alongside other future filmmakers including James Cameron.
In our video conversation earlier this week, Gillis also discussed working with Stan Winston on Pumpkinhead, and of course we talked about Halloween and what the holiday means to Alec.
